Comedy, Live Music and Arcade Nights: What's New for a Night Out at The Mall at Wellington Green

For three years, catching a show at the Palm Beach Improv meant driving east. When redevelopment closed the club's longtime home at CityPlace, the shows moved to temporary space at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach. Today the Improv has its own stage again. It sits on the upper level of The Mall at Wellington Green, between Macy's and CMX Cinemas.

That move changes how a Friday night works out here. Between July and October, the mall picked up a comedy club, a live-music pub and a larger arcade with its own kitchen and bar. Put together, they let you plan an entire evening on Forest Hill Boulevard: dinner, a show and a nightcap, all without leaving Wellington.

Why the Improv chose Wellington

The Sun Sentinel reported in August that the club planned to debut its new stage over Labor Day weekend. The club fills a 13,700-square-foot space on the mall's upper level, with Copper Blues right next door. Owner and operator Christopher Carbo told the paper that the showroom has "a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system, mixed seating with a variety of booth and table options, and a full cocktail and food menu that includes appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees and dessert."

Copper Blues and the Improv have been neighbors before. The Sun Sentinel noted that the pairing repeats the setup at the club's original CityPlace location and at the Miami Improv in Doral. What's new is the address. A venue that West Palm Beach once anchored now sits in western Palm Beach County.

The mall describes this as a deliberate shift. "The opening of Copper Blues, alongside Palm Beach Improv, is another important step in the Mall at Wellington Green's continued evolution into a premier destination for dining and entertainment, in addition to specialized retail," general manager Asad Sadiq told the Town-Crier. "We're focused on creating more reasons for guests to visit, stay longer and enjoy experiences that extend well beyond traditional shopping."

How the evening fits together

The three new venues are spread across two floors. Here is the layout:

Venue Where in the mall What it offers Opened
Palm Beach Improv Upper level, between Macy's and CMX Cinemas Touring comics, rising talent, special events, full dinner menu and bar Planned for Labor Day weekend 2026
Copper Blues Rock Pub & Kitchen Upper level, next to the Improv American pub menu, craft cocktails, live music, outdoor seating Grand opening Oct. 16–17, 2026
Arcade Time First level, next to the food court Modern and retro games, billiards, full-service kitchen and bar Grand-opening ceremony July 8, 2026

Copper Blues: dinner before the show, or the whole night

Copper Blues held its public grand opening about three weeks ago, with live music on Friday, Oct. 16, and Saturday, Oct. 17. It seats up to 275 guests, counting the bar and outdoor seating. The menu includes Copper Nachos and Steak Frites, and the cocktail list includes the Strawberry Fields and the Champagne Supernova. The Town-Crier reports that Copper Blues will offer happy hour specials and plans to add brunch in the near future.

It is the Improv's official bar and restaurant, so stopping in before or after a show is the obvious move. You don't need a comedy ticket to eat there, though. Co-founder Robby Day told the Town-Crier he wants it to be "a place where people can come together for a night out, whether they're joining us for dinner, drinks, live music or a show next door."

Arcade Time: downstairs, and bigger than before

Arcade Time used to be on the second floor. Over the summer it moved to a 13,000-square-foot space on the first level, next to the food court, and added billiards, retro favorites and a full-service kitchen and bar. Owner Jonathan Demare told the Town-Crier that guests "are looking for more than just an arcade." According to the paper, the concept is built to work for families in the daytime and for adults at night.

That makes it a handy option for groups with mixed plans. If part of your group has comedy tickets and the rest wants something to do, everyone can still meet for a late bite.

Before you buy Improv tickets

The Improv's house rules are on its FAQ page. Read them before you book so nothing surprises you at the table:

  • Food and drinks are not included in the ticket price.
  • There is a two-drink minimum per person. Nonalcoholic drinks count toward it.
  • Most shows are 21 and over. Monday through Thursday shows, late Friday shows and Sunday shows are 18 and over, unless a ticket listing says something different.
  • Groups of 20 or more can ask about food-and-beverage packages that come with guaranteed reserved seating.

The minimum applies inside the showroom, and the showroom serves a full dinner menu, so it's easy to make the ticket and the meal one plan. Copper Blues works well for a drink before the show or a late bite after it.

Who's on stage in November and December

A local stage matters most when the lineup is worth the trip, and the Palm Beach Improv events calendar for the coming weeks has some big names. Here is what was listed as of late October:

  1. Ralph Barbosa, Nov. 6–7, this weekend
  2. Jeff Dye, Nov. 12
  3. Tony Baker, Nov. 19
  4. Danny Gonzalez, Nov. 20–21
  5. The Great American Brunch, Nov. 22
  6. Adam Carolla, Nov. 27–29, over Thanksgiving weekend
  7. Damon Wayans, Dec. 3–6

The Have-Nots Comedy Live series also has dates on the calendar starting Nov. 25 and running through Dec. 28. Touring schedules can change, so check the listing for your show's date and age limit before you go.

Adam Carolla's Thanksgiving-weekend run could be an easy plan if you're hosting family from out of town. Dinner in the showroom at an 18-and-over show, with drinks at Copper Blues afterward, would keep everyone close to home.

Starting the night somewhere else on Forest Hill

You don't have to eat at the mall. If you want a sit-down steak dinner before the show, Lewis Prime Grill opened May 14, 2026, at 10120 Forest Hill Blvd., in the former Stonewood Grill space at the Pointe at Wellington Green. The Sun Sentinel covered the opening. It's an upscale American steakhouse focused on prime cuts and shareable dishes, and it's just down the road from the mall at 10300 W. Forest Hill Blvd.

There's more on the way on State Road 7. At Lotis, local franchisees for Cluck Face Nashville Hot Chicken were aiming for a mid-November opening at 1347 S. State Road 7, Unit 3-105, according to Business Debut. That's a target date, not a confirmed one. Planned hours of 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily would make it one of the latest-open kitchens nearby once it starts serving.

Timing matters too. From January through April, the winter equestrian season tends to bring heavier traffic on State Road 7 and longer restaurant waits. If you want an easy, low-stress first visit to the new upstairs lineup, November and December are good months to go.

If one of these new spots has become your go-to, or you're curious how places like these are shaping what's close to home in Wellington, I'd love to hear about it. Reach out through Brooke J Waszak and Let's Connect.
